“The art of writing is the art of applying the seat of the pants to the seat of the chair.”
I’m Montana,
a communications specialist, content strategist, and copywriter
(try saying that three times fast.)
I am a graduate of the Broadcast and Online Journalism program at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. I bring a unique blend of journalism, communications, public relations, and marketing to my work. I’ve been featured in a variety of web/print publications, including The Huffington Post and The Financial Diet, and I’ve helped secure earned media coverage ranging from local newspapers, to international publications such as the Wall Street Journal.
I like to research, dig deep, and learn news things whenever I can; that curiosity has helped me become a subject matter expert in health/wellness, fitness, pop culture, media, and even peripheral topics like personal finance, humanities, outdoor recreation, food & beverage, and software.

Highlights
2017
In 2017, I wrote a press release on Kintec’s Director of Pedorthics, which the Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows News published in their May 31, 2017 issue.
2018
In 2018, I also spearheaded Kintec’s public relations strategy as the company entered a new partnership with Walking Mobility Clinics in Ontario. You can read that story here: Surrey-based Kintec Footlabs signs ‘exciting’ deal with Walking Mobility.
2019
From 2016 to 2019, I managed all web content at Kintec: Footwear + Orthotics, including social media posts, blogs, videos, and paid social advertising. During this time period, I increased blog views from 22,378 in 2016 to 222,069 collectively by mid-2019.
2020
In early 2020, I joined PerfectMind as a creative copywriter. During the height of Covid-19, I headed up the content strategy, and contributed to Covid-19 webinar content that had viewer conversion rates of over 50%.
2021
After PerfectMind joined the Xplor Technologies family, I was promoted to a Content Manager role in mid-2021. I started working on global brands as a content manager for the legacy health & fitness vertical. In this role, I also contributed to Xplor’s communication’s team on owned content, awards submissions, and press releases.
2022
Starting in May 2022, I shifted my focus entirely to the boutique fitness brand Xplor Mariana Tek, as well as Xplor Recreation in the North America region. My work for Mariana Tek’s monthly campaigns drove click-through rates averaging at 15%, and yielded results as high as 25%.
2023
In 2023, I left Xplor Technologies and started providing strategic communications services as a contractor. My clients included DDS Wireless and Bandstra Transportation, and Ollo Metrics. In the fall of 2023, I joined First West Credit Union’s Communications team to jumpstart their content program.
2024
I successfully launched and tailored content to support integrated campaigns, including articles, videos, documents, and social media content. This work allowed the regional websites’ YOY website traffic to grow while improving on-page engagement. The content frameworks put in place still exist and contribute to conversions
2025
I began my journey at Lumon Canada, and we ended Q1 with an appearance in the Wall Street Journal following a surprising surge in visibility as season 2 of Apple TV+’s Severance aired. I also launched a consumer newsletter with an open rate of 49%, and grew website traffic by 52% with thought leadership content.
